Ken Njoroge: I believe that I was put on this earth to make a difference

Cellulant’s Co-founders- Bolaji Akinboro and Ken Njoroge with Endeavor’s co-founder and CEO- Linda Rottenberg

In  June 2017 Cellulant, alongside gCEO Ken Njoroge, was selected as the first high-impact Sub-Saharan Africa company by Endeavor.

As part of their 20th Anniversary celebration in November, Ken was featured as one of Endeavor’s Faces of Impact. Below is Ken’s Endeavor story as featured on their website:

“I believe that I was put on this earth to make a difference,” said Ken Njoroge.

With Cellulant, Ken is breaching the financial inclusion gap throughout the African continent, connecting merchants, banks and mobile operators with their increasingly mobile customers through its electronic payments services. The company has already seen tangible success: Cellulant was able to transform the agriculture sector in Nigeria, driving up the income for 7 million farmers by 300 percent in just four years.

“I am proud to see that the work I do—building a large values-driven business—actually changes the lives, outlook and ambition of the people I work with,” Ken said. “Every day, I also get to see the same impact with the customers we serve across Africa—a continent I am deeply committed to and I so dearly love.”

Selected as the first entrepreneur from the recently-launched Endeavor Kenya office, Ken has tapped into Endeavor’s global network to connect with thought leaders in the payments space as he works toward his goal of connecting African consumers with up to 7 million businesses, and claiming a piece of a $20 billion payments market.

“They’ve served as a sounding board as I continue to refine the Cellulant story and bring clarity to our strategy moving forward,” said Ken.
